Introduction

Mifgash Tel Aviv is an initiative started during the Covid-19 pandemic connecting young secular Israelis to the values of Jewish traditions by creating a meeting place to provide Sabbath hospitality with festive meals in conjunction with rich spiritual content and fascinating lectures. We have already reached out to over 100 young adults by conducting over 10 Shabbatonim and 30 classes throughout the pandemic. Now, after the incubator period (and as the pandemic wanes), we are ready to take Mifgash Tel Aviv to the next level. We need help for the next 12 months to continue our outreach!

Mifgash TLV reaches out to young Jewish professionals and students to embrace the power of our Mesorah with a personal touch. In the heart of secular Tel Aviv, we aim to develop close-knit relationships, help participants embrace Judaic knowledge, and elevate their spiritual and social existence

Vision

Mifgash TLV will immediately begin hosting warm and inviting Shabbatot. Inspiring participants to learn is a top priority. After our first month, a biweekly lecture will focus on provocative topics that include the Torah’s view of subjects relevant to men and women, politics, human health, dating, as well as helping individuals confront personal challenges. In our second year, we will offer Chavrusa learning twice a week. In addition, we will cover fundamental topics such as Hilchot Shabbat & Yom Tov, the laws of Lashon Hora, Kashrut, family purity, Life Cycle, and Brachot. Part of each chavrusa session will encompass lessons personalized for personal growth. Topics will include, Talmud study, Chassidus, contemporary ethics, mussar, and Rav Kook’s works. Stimulating performances by well known Jewish educators and Jewish entertainers will also be scheduled.

Why is Mifgash TLV
a compelling initiative?

Many secular Israelis experience soul searching and are looking for deeper ways to connect. Our solution is to fill this spiritual vacuum with Torah. Mifgash TLV offers individual attention with the aim of treating all guests like family. We include lively meals and a comfortable place to sleep.   Few Jewish outreach organizations entice 15-30 people each Shabbat in a provocative, enjoyable and non-threatening way.

What are the goals for Mifgash TLV in the future?

The goal is to expand programing to weekday encounters for those yearning to elevate their relationships, spirituality and family. Following that, our goal is to initiate one-on-one learning sessions.

Mifgash TLV also plans to organize a national outreach conference in Israel to featuring the leading Rabbis in outreach teach new techniques to all other leading outreach organizations
